An Emotional Beginning
Yesterday, the Investiture Ceremony of the Valentes Dones and the Inaugural Proclamation marked the beginning of the festivities most awaited and felt by the inhabitants of Sóller. These two emotional events kicked off an intense weekend of Fira and Firó, which promises a wide and varied list of events with high participation.
An Emblematic Moment
Plaça Constitució was filled with people, with the presence of historical figures, municipal and supra-municipal authorities, such as the president of the Mallorca Council, Llorenç Galmés, and the company councillor, Alejandro Sáenz de San Pedro. These events officially marked the start of the festivities, with the outstanding presence of the mayor, Miquel Nadal, accompanied by the councilors of the Sóller City Council.
Emotional Moments
The Parish of Sant Bartomeu hosted the two emotional events, with the participation of the Valentes Dones 2024 and 2023, the herald of the Fair, adult and children’s historical characters, accompanied by traditional musicians. The Investiture of the Valentes Dones, the sisters Eva and Marta Seguí, was enlivened with a sonata of Aires Sollerics, followed by the Pregó by the former rector Marià Gastalver.
A Fair Full of Events
The program of events offers a wide and varied list of events for all tastes and ages, with the collaboration of various organizations in the Valley. Highlights include the ‘Second Fironera Parade’, the Batucada Batu-al-món, the ‘Txupinasso’, the Nit Jove, the Solemn Procession of the Virgin Mary of Victory, the car exhibition and livestock show, the Major Mass and the Banda de Música concert.
