A frozen dream

Three childhood friends fulfill their dream in Antarctica

After more than six years of intense work to develop the water bike, and an additional year of meticulous preparation, Red Shark Bikes has achieved its goal. They have achieved this in one of the most remote places on the planet, Antarctica, where three childhood friends – Josep Rubau (founder and director of Red Shark Bikes), Lluís Balasch and Jesús Prieto, all of them amateur sportsmen – have recently completed a pedaling adventure in the arctic circle. The trip lasted forty days, from his departure from Roses to Chile, in an expedition supervised and guided by the extreme adventurer Antonio de la Rosa, an expert in these inhospitable lands.

A sustainable trip that respects the planet

This icy odyssey also has great historical significance: in addition to realizing a dream they have cherished for many years, the three friends have become the first to reach Antarctica in a fully sustainable and planet-friendly way. They have sailed and moved solely with the energy of the wind and human strength.

A documentary to immortalize the adventure

This adventure has also generated enough material for the creation of a documentary that will be published on digital platforms shortly. The protagonists want to share their navigation and experience with the whole world.

The three friends have expressed their surprise and satisfaction at having exceeded all expectations during this exciting adventure in Antarctica.
