An Innovative Cultural Initiative

The series ‘What do they say? Stages of Southern Catalonia’ has captured the attention of the public with a program that highlights the importance of democratic memory. This first edition, which took place between October and November, has been a resounding success with a total of 10 performances already performed and 5 more shows scheduled, which will allow viewers to enjoy the rich cultural diversity of 15 municipalities in southern Catalonia.

Democratic Memory as a Central Axis

With the motto ‘Voices and Silences of Memory’, this cultural proposal seeks not only to entertain, but also to educate and connect communities with their historical past. Through the performing arts, it aims to reinforce local identity and create a space for reflection on the recent history of the territory.

Assistance and Recognition

Since its launch, the cycle has received an exceptional reception, with hundreds of spectators attending the performances. The public response has been very positive, demonstrating that there is a notable interest in proposals that connect art with the cultural history of the region.

The Grand Finale of the Cycle

On November 30, at 7:00 p.m., the Cal Massó Art Center will host the show “Tots venim d’un altre temps”, which fuses theater, poetry, and music to evoke the collective Catalan memory from the Civil War to the present day. This event will mark the closing of a cycle that has been enriched with complementary activities, all of which focus on democratic memory.

Those interested can find more details about this show and other associated activities on the official page of the Reus cultural agenda.

Future of the Cycle: A Commitment to Culture

‘Què diu que fan?’ is positioned as the first networked performing arts circuit in the Tarragona and Ebrenca regions, with the aim of consolidating itself and evolving in future editions. Each year, the organizers aim to vary the central theme, maintaining the objective of promoting local production and bringing the stories of the region closer to a diverse audience.

Institutional Support

With the support of the Department of Culture of the Generalitat, the Tarragona Provincial Council and the town councils involved, this cycle is just the first step in a series of initiatives that promise to enrich the cultural offer of southern Catalonia and encourage community participation.
