The promotion of theatrical talent in Tarragona
This afternoon, in a meeting with the media, the schedule for the 31st edition of the Mostra de Teatre Jove, which will begin its tour in May and will last until June 12, was revealed. On this occasion, a total of 10 shows will be presented by 10 local companies, all of them from Tarragona.
A commendable initiative to encourage creativity
Guillermo García de Castro, Councilor for Youth at the Tarragona City Council, highlighted the show’s three-decade commitment to promote theater as a development tool among the city’s young people. He underlined the uniqueness of this event, the result of the collaboration between the Youth and Culture areas of the City Council and the theater and youth groups, evidencing an interdepartmental vision in its management.
The theatrical wealth of Tarragona on stage
Tarragona is home to an important diversity of young theater companies and groups that promote varied projects and actively participate in cultural and social initiatives. Dos Punts and Actrices Anónimas are two of the formations that will make their debut in this edition, particularly highlighting the latter, which emerged from the theater classes held periodically at Espai Jove Kesse.
A theatrical calendar available to everyone
This year, the Mostra de Teatre Jove will not be limited to the spring season, but will offer activities throughout the whole year, including workshops, professional shows and training programs during the summer and autumn months.
Continued support for youth artistic creation
The City Council’s Ministry of Youth provides permanent resources to the participants of the Youth Theater Show through cultural and youth spaces to promote training, experimentation and artistic exhibition. In addition, it works to guarantee the continuity of the city’s cultural programming, emphasizing the importance of promoting cultural creation among young local talents.
Formative collaborations with theatrical references
During this edition, renowned companies such as La Calòrica and the creative laboratory Malnascuts of the Sala Beckett in Barcelona, dedicated to a young audience, participated in training and collaboration programs.
A recognition of community involvement
The 31-year history of the Mostra de Teatre Jove is the result of the dedication of numerous professionals and cultural figures from the city who have contributed to the event’s Advisory Board, offering support and guidance to young local artists.

The current edition has the participation of figures such as Mercè Sardà, Pep Linares, Paco Romero, Núria Loras, the La Faixsula company with Ingrid Duch, Olga Dalmau, Raquel Mena and Mireia González, who have enriched the program with their experience and theatrical knowledge.
