A Unique Experience: The Cruïlla Festival 2024

An Inescapable Appointment for Music Lovers

El Cruïlla, a festival that has managed to establish itself as one of the great outdoor musical events in our calendar, is about to start a new edition. For four days, from Wednesday to Saturday, attendees will enjoy a unique and eclectic musical experience.

Musical Diversity in All Its Amplitude

The festival offers a varied musical proposal that captivates all tastes. The first night is dedicated to urban music, with prominent artists such as Trueno and 31 Fam. The next two days will be filled with guitar music in all its forms, from Avril Lavigne’s pop punk to grunge classics like Smashing Pumpkins and The Kooks. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy the techno pop anthems of Pet Shop Boys.

A Night of Latin Rhythms and Afro-Cuban Jazz

Thursday night will be dedicated to Latin rhythms, with the participation of artists such as Óscar D’Leon, Olga Tañón and Chucho Valdés, an eminence of Afro-Cuban jazz. The latter, founder of the iconic band Irakeke, will celebrate 50 years of its formation with a memorable performance.

The Musical Legacy of Chucho Valdés

Chucho Valdés, son of a legend like Bebo Valdés, has forged a unique musical career. With seven Grammy Awards and six Latin Grammy Awards, Valdés has explored the fusion of Cuban peasant music with jazz, influenced by his father and other great musicians. His instrumental music and his most popular songs, such as Juana 1600 and Zanaith, have marked entire generations.

A Look at the Past and the Future of Music

Valdés, raised in a house where Celia Cruz was a constant presence, expresses his respect for the new generations of musicians, while recalling his own experience with popular music. With a family of musicians, Valdés does not contemplate retirement, as what really motivates him is to continue playing and exciting the public with his music.
