BYD: The Chinese brand that is positioned in the European market

A new reference in the European market

BYD, one of the most prominent Chinese brands, aims to become a reference in the European market. Unlike other brands, BYD focuses exclusively on manufacturing electric and plug-in hybrid cars. Its strategy is based on offering high quality products at competitive prices, which makes it one of the best options for consumers.

The Seal U model: an attractive option

A notable example is the Seal U model, BYD’s first plug-in hybrid SUV in Europe. This vehicle combines an attractive design with a family character and a ZERO label. In addition, it comes equipped with standard features that make it very complete in all aspects. Compared to its competitor, the Toyota RAV4 PHEV, the Seal U offers excellent value for money.

Comparison with the Toyota RAV4 PHEV

If we compare the Seal U with the Toyota RAV4 PHEV, we find similarities in terms of dimensions and performance. However, there are some important differences to note. In terms of trunk capacity, the Toyota surpasses the BYD with 540 liters compared to the 450 liters of the Seal U. In terms of power, the Chinese model offers 218 horses, while the Japanese model reaches 304 horses. Regarding electric range, the Seal U offers 80 km, while the RAV4 PHEV reaches 75 km.

A more affordable option

The big difference between these two models lies in the price. While the Toyota RAV4 PHEV exceeds €50,000 in its entry-level version, the BYD Seal U is around €38,000 in its most basic version. Even the most powerful version of the BYD is still around €5,000 cheaper than the Toyota. This price difference makes many consider the BYD as the winning option in this comparison.
