Candies are back in Sant Feliu

Candies are once again present on the streets of Sant Feliu

From this Saturday, April 6, candies once again fill the streets and squares of Sant Feliu. Esplai Sant Llorenç, Cor de l’Ateneu and Cor de la Unió Choral will be in charge of singing these popular songs during the weekend. Thus, the streets of Sant Feliu will become a vibrant scene of music and tradition.

Esplai Sant Llorenç leads the candies

Esplai Sant Llorenç will be the first to sing the candies through the streets of Sant Feliu. During Saturday morning, the Esplai group of singers will tour the streets of the city center, passing through emblematic places such as Carrer Pou de Sant Pere, Plaça Catalunya and Carrer Laureà Miró. The recital will culminate in Carrer Daoiz and Velarde, where the organization’s headquarters are located.

The Choir of the Choral Union also joins the candy

The Choral Union Choir will also participate in the candy this weekend. During the afternoon of Saturday, they will perform in Passeig Nadal and in Carrer D’En Serra and Laureà Miró. The singers will perform songs such as “The wolf of the sea or Mariner de terra endins”, among others.

Some special candies to commemorate the 500 years of the Parish of Sant Llorenç

This year, the Parish of Sant Llorenç celebrates its 500th anniversary. For this reason, this year’s candies will have a special meaning. The group of singers from Esplai Sant Llorenç will premiere a new song to commemorate this anniversary. In addition, on Sunday, after the traditional mass in the church, Esplai Sant Llorenç will sing the candy repertoire inside the cathedral.

An event for the whole community

Candy is a tradition that unites and excites the community of Sant Feliu. This year, almost a hundred singers will participate in this party, including current and former members of Esplai Sant Llorenç. In addition to the streets, the candies will also be present in different squares of the town, such as Daoiz i Velarde street, Girona street, Laureà Miró street, Plaça Catalunya and Plaça de la Vila.
