A Unique Tourist Transport Experience
Next Saturday, March 23, the Tren del Ciment, a tourist transport service managed by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC), will be launched again. This service will be active until November 3rd this season and will offer variable times and frequencies depending on the time of year.
News at Clot del Moro Station
One of the highlights of this season is the opening of a children’s park at the Clot del Moro station, a space inspired by the industrial past of coal transport. The little ones will have the opportunity to explore and learn about this industrial legacy. The equipment offers interactive elements that allow children to manipulate sand and water, simulating the transport of materials and the production of cement.
Heritage and Local History Circuit
FGC also highlights the creation of a new heritage circuit to visit the former colony of the Asland cement factory. This route, promoted by the Berguedà Regional Council, is signposted with informative panels that tell the history of this important industrial center of the region.
An Unforgettable Journey through Catalan Landscapes
The Tren del Ciment runs a 3.5 kilometer route in about 20 minutes, crossing forests and places of great beauty near the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park. With more than 100 years of service, this historic railcar offers passengers the chance to see stunning scenery and get up close to the region’s natural wealth.
Other Tourist Trains in Catalonia
In addition to the Tren del Ciment, FGC operates other tourist services throughout Catalonia. Among them is the Tren dels Lacs, with activity from April 6 to October 26, as well as the Montserrat Zipline and Funiculars and the Núria Zipline, in operation throughout the year.
