Letizia’s Unexpected Trajectory: From Journalist to Queen of Spain

The Unexpected Path to Royalty

If Letizia had known that one day she would become queen, her life would have taken a completely different path. Initially, she studied journalism without the slightest pretense of what her destiny had in store for her. Although she never imagined that she would become the queen of Spain, according to Jim Russo, she was always clear about her desire to meet Felipe VI. Aware that journalism was a field in which sooner or later she would coincide with him, Letizia followed her path. Her ambition was evident to her family, who always knew she would go far. During her first 30 years, however, the Asturian woman led an ordinary life, enjoying her youth.

Past Episodes and Family Relationships

Numerous unauthorized biographies have been written about the queen, some of them, such as that of David Rocasolano, revealing episodes from her past. She never imagined that a family member could betray her for money. There has been talk of her family’s difficult economic situation, as well as her summers in Catalonia with her sister Telma, where she used to hitchhike and visit nudist beaches. Fortunately, at that time she was not famous and there are no photographs of those moments. In Mexico, she also had numerous adventures. Her closest friends say that she enjoyed partying and drinking. Although it is important to recognize that she always gave 100% to her work.

Family Ties and Precious Memories

Letizia had a close relationship with her grandparents, Paco and Kety, Paloma Rocasolano’s parents. There is still a photograph of the couple with her daughter on the beaches of Benidorm, early in the morning, preparing everything to spend the day. Summers were special times for the family, filled with fond memories. Letizia treasures moments spent with them in Asturias, with her sisters and cousins. Some photographs of her show her adolescence, going to the pool with her grandparents.

The Desire to Erase the Past

Despite her efforts to leave that stage of her life behind, there are moments that Letizia would not want to erase, such as the endearing images of a united family. Although she has lost contact with some, and others, unfortunately, are no longer by her side due to age, she remembers them every day of her life. In a photograph, Letizia appears in a swimsuit, next to her grandfather Paco and her sister, in a moment that is already part of her history. David Rocasolano, the family traitor, is also present in the image, although since he published that book, no one has spoken to him.
