Poetry Week: a consolidated tradition
With the arrival of spring, Sant Feliu de Llobregat is preparing to host the thirteenth edition of Poetry Week. This event, which lasts 10 days, has established itself as an unmissable appointment for lovers of the poetic art. Although it may seem like an underground adventure, Poetry Week has managed to earn a place in the city’s cultural landscape.
A diverse and enriching program
The Poetry Week program offers a wide variety of activities for all tastes. From poetry recitals to art exhibitions, through concerts and family shows, there are proposals for all audiences. This year, the exhibition “Art does not exist” stands out, in which the artist Roger Romagosa transforms corners of Sant Feliu into works of art, thus questioning the limits of art and authorship.
Highlights of Poetry Week
During Poetry Week, there were unforgettable moments. One of them was the tribute to the Mexican singer Chavela Vargas, by Celeste Alías, Santi Careta and Oriol Roca. This concert captivated the audience with its interpretations of Chavela Vargas’ classics. Another highlight was the poetry and wine tasting, in which Wislawa Szymborska’s poems were paired with different wines and tapas. This experience was a delight for the senses.
A celebration of poetry in different formats
Poetry Week is not limited to poetry recitals. There have also been innovative proposals such as live coding, in which artists create live music using computer programming. In addition, concerts have been organized in which poetry takes the form of music, such as Myriam Swanson’s concert accompanied by Jordi Mena on guitar. These different formats allow exploring the multiple facets of poetic art.
A positive assessment and a wish for the future
The thirteenth edition of Poetry Week has been a success, with a great turnout and quality programming. However, the organizers hope that in future editions they can count on greater institutional support for this cultural event. Poetry Week has established itself as a celebration of poetic art and an opportunity for all poetry lovers to enjoy enriching and diverse activities.
