Reliving Memories: A Journey to Childhood Through the Game

The Return to the Family House

With the family home under my sister’s responsibility, she suggested I spend a day clearing out my old room. This room, which had been a haven of childhood memories, had remained untouched since my departure, and she feared to get rid of anything without my consent.

A Tunnel to the Past

Entering that room was like opening an old book full of yellowed pages. Every corner evoked moments lived and dreams lost. The bed, with its child-printed coverlet, seemed to be waiting for my return, even though I couldn’t remember the last time I’d slept in it. A Barça poster hung on the wall, reminding me of the first European Cup won, while a shelf full of high school books looked at me nostalgically.

Discovering Forgotten Treasures

Among the objects I found, the board games were the first to catch my attention. While Monopoly and Risk were gone, one game in particular caught my eye: the black box of Màgia Borràs. Opening it, a world of wonder unfolded before me, with every piece carefully placed, from the magic wand to the colored balls.

The Illusion of Magic

Every time I opened the box, my imagination flew. That initial feeling of surprise and excitement was unmatched, like being a kid again. I dreamed of becoming a magician capable of performing the most incredible tricks. But soon, this illusion was clouded by reality.

Discussions and Disappointments

The mood in the room changed quickly, with my parents’ voices rising in a discussion of the usefulness of the gift. I don’t remember how it started, but it hurt me to see how a simple game could trigger old tensions. My sister’s tears reflected the pain of a family in conflict.

The Magic of Family Support

Despite the disappointments with the game, I cannot forget the support I received from my parents. Both figures, first separately and then together, encouraged me not to give up. Together, we tried to figure out the tricks, and in the process, family tensions began to dissipate.

A New Perspective

While the magic tricks didn’t turn out to be what I had hoped for, the time spent with my parents turned out to be the real magic. At a time when the family seemed disconnected, finding a simple trick provided an opportunity to reconnect and remember the value of togetherness.

Final Reflections

This experience taught me that while objects can be disappointing, the most important are the moments we share with those we love. The real magic lies not in the tricks we can do, but in the connections we make. And so, what seemed like a simple childhood memory became a new opportunity for reconciliation and family love.
