A Commitment to Sustainable Rural Tourism
The Escapada Rurals platform has announced the ten municipalities competing to become the Capital of Rural Tourism, among them Sant Hilari Sacalm stands out, the only representative of Catalonia in this year’s selection. Mayor Jordi Rotllant received the recognition last Friday in this contest that recognizes outstanding rural destinations that promote sustainable tourism.
Citizen Involvement Campaign
Sant Hilari Sacalm Town Council and the Tourist Office – Can Rovira have launched a campaign to get the support of businesses, entities, citizens and visitors to get the most votes in this competition. The finalists of this edition also include Altura, Artajona, Brihuega, Cabezuela del Valle, Cómpeta, Enciso, Peñafiel, Santa Eulàlia d’Oscos and Vilaflor de Chasna.
Rigorous Selection of Finalists
The ten finalists have been chosen from more than 200 nominations that meet the requirements of having fewer than 10,000 inhabitants, offering rural accommodation and captivating visitors with their charm. Voting will be open until April 15th and the winner will be announced on April 18th. Escapada Rurals communications manager, Judith Monmany, has highlighted the importance of these recognitions.
