An Unpublished Find at Memoria.cat
The website Memoria.cat has enriched its collection dedicated to the journalist and writer Josep Maria Planes with an unprecedented discovery: the play “Déu el va castigar”.
This finding is particularly significant, as the website has published for the first time the text of three more works, never before published, all of them preserved in the archive of the Institut del Teatre.

This discovery reveals an unknown facet of Josep Maria Planes, expanding his legacy as a playwright with a hitherto unknown work, “God punished him”.
In addition, the originals of Amor and Un dinar fred have been published for the first time, works that, despite being performed in the 1930s, had not seen the light of day until now.

The discovery by Manres historian Joaquim Aloy includes an unpublished adaptation that Planes made of the work Five Star Final, by Louis Weitzenkorn, entitled “The evening edition”.
The originals of these works were found in the Documentation Center and Museum of Performing Arts of the Institut del Teatre, offering an unprecedented view of the work of Planes as a playwright.
