The latest Reading Clubs at the Manlleu Municipal Library

An opportunity to deepen reading

The Municipal Library of Manlleu BBVA is organizing the last Reading Clubs of the season, which will take place on June 13, 15 and 21. This is a great opportunity for lovers of reading in Manlleu and its surroundings to delve into the works of three outstanding authors: Maria Antònia Oliver, José Saramago and Timur Vermes.

A variety of literary themes and styles

Each session of the Reading Clubs will be dedicated to a different work. The “De toto una mica” Reading Club will open the last cycle tomorrow at 6 p.m. with the book “Joana E.” by Maria Antonia Oliver. This novel narrates the life of Joana E., a woman who sees her life change after the death of her parents in a traffic accident.

The following Wednesday, at 6 p.m., it will be José Saramago’s turn with the Classics Reading Club. In this session, the work “Petites Memories” will be discussed, which is a tribute to the rural origins of the author and a reflection on the wisdom that can be found in traditions.

The last meeting, moderated by Marc Orra, will take place on June 21 with the L’escriba Reading Club. On this occasion, the work titled “He’s back” by Timur Vermes will be debated, which raises the question of the possible effects of Adolf Hitler’s return today.

Open to everyone

The sessions of the Reading Clubs are aimed at registered people, but are open to all citizens. Due to current restrictions, the sessions will be held in a virtual format. To obtain the link for participation, you can contact the Manlleu Municipal Library.

Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy reading and share your impressions with other book lovers. Sign up for the last Reading Clubs of the season at the Manlleu Municipal Library and discover new literary worlds.
