The New Mural by Pilarin Bayés in La Pobla de Segur

A Tribute to Poblatà Heritage

Recently, a new mural has been inaugurated in La Pobla de Segur that captures the essence and wealth of the municipality. This work, created by the illustrator Pilarin Bayés, represents a celebration of local heritage, including elements such as the Rayiers de la Noguera Pallaresa, the falls, the fire department and the various sports clubs in the town. The mural, located in the Boixareu Mayor’s Park, is a visual testament to the diversity and vitality of the Poblata community.

Collaboration and Inspiration

The councilor for culture in La Pobla, Ramon Enric Guimó, has explained that the idea for this mural came about two years ago and that the collaboration with Pilarin Bayés has been constant. The artist, known for other similar projects in other localities, worked closely with the city council to capture the most emblematic landscapes of the area, as well as the cultural associations and ethnic diversity of the inhabitants. This collaboration has resulted in a mural rich in details, which includes icons such as Roques Roies, the hermitage of Sant Miquel del Pui, the Casa Mauri building, the statue of General Moragues, the church of Nostra Senora de Ribera, the giants Miquel and Ribera, candy, as well as activities such as fishing and hunting.

Upcoming Celebrations and Completion

The council is currently working on the final details of the mural, including lighting. It is planned that the official inauguration will take place in June, with the presence of Pilarin Bayés. This event, however, will probably take place after the next parliamentary elections. Thus, the Poblata community looks forward to this celebration that will highlight its identity and local pride.
