An expert in biochemistry, Jessie Inchauspé, has shared information on social networks about the best time to consume sweets. According to her, the optimal time is after a main meal, such as lunch, since at this time sugar is digested more slowly and has less impact on the body.

Avoid sweets during breakfast

On the other hand, Jessie Inchauspé has also emphasized that breakfast time is not the ideal time to consume sweet foods. It’s important to have a satisfying breakfast, but that doesn’t mean adding sugar first thing in the morning.

The reason behind this is that consuming sugar on an empty stomach and especially first thing in the morning causes the carbohydrates to quickly convert into glucose molecules, causing spikes in blood sugar and its adverse effects.
