Winning stories of the children’s literary contest
Last Saturday, the prizes were awarded for the “1st Children’s Literary Contest – Capgirem la Llegenda de Sant Jordi” organized by Ràdio Manlleu. This competition had the participation of 130 students from 3rd to 6th grade, who presented completely different and surprising legend endings.
Categories and winners
The competition was divided into two categories: category A for 3rd and 4th grade students and category B for 5th and 6th grade students. Below are the winners of each category:
Categoria A
The first prize in category A went to Arlet P., a 6th grade student at the Vedruna Manlleu school. His legend ending surprised with a knight in silver armor appearing on a white horse. The princess was excited and they had an unexpected conversation with the dragon’s mother. The second prize in category A went to Jordi C., a 5th grade student at the Vedruna Manlleu school. In this legend ending, an ordinary villager appeared and bravely faced the dragon with the help of the whole village.
Categoria B
The first prize in the B category went to Abril S., a 4th grade student at the Quatre Vents school. In this end of the legend, the cook at the town’s inn offered the dragon a soy and vegetable-based menu to bring about peace. The second prize in the B category went to Guiu B., a 3rd grade student at the Vedruna Manlleu school. In this ending of the legend, Saint John, a knight, faced the dragon in several trials and achieved victory with the help of the people.
Awards
The winners of the competition received their prizes last Saturday as part of a special program that Ràdio Manlleu made in Plaça Fra Bernadí. During this show, the winners recounted their legend endings over the radio.
