The City Council of Manlleu calls the tender for the works, which will have a term of one year and three months
Borrow, | The urbanization project of La Coromina Nord, the Plan del Mas, enters a new phase. Manlleu City Council has published the tender announcement for the works, which have a budget of around 8.4 million euros. The deadline for submitting offers will end on May 2.
The tender, which was approved last week with the CUP abstaining, will allow the development of a sector of 66,000 m² of industrial building land to be launched. Manlleu City Council and the land owners have reached an agreement to develop this area, which is considered strategic for the city’s economic growth.
A new round to improve mobility and safety
The tender also includes the construction of a new roundabout that will connect the estate with the Miranda road. This road will aim to improve mobility and traffic safety, especially for heavy vehicles. In this way, the aim is to lighten the load on Passeig de Sant Joan and Avinguda de Roma, which currently support a large volume of trucks.
A project that was reactivated in 2017
The urbanization project for the new industrial sector of the Mas plan was reactivated in 2017, when the municipal council approved the opening of lots to promote the industrial development of this area and that of Verdaguer. A year later, an agreement was signed with a dozen owners of the estate to rezone more than 12 hectares. After a process to modify the POUM, the expansion of Manlleu’s industrial land is progressing well.
The works will involve several performances
The urbanization works of the new industrial sector will entail several actions, such as the demolition of existing buildings, earthmoving, paving, the installation of rainwater and waste water collection systems, public lighting, the distribution of electrical energy and optical fiber, among others.
