A Remarkable Growth in Digitization
The growing interest in digitization among the country’s companies has reached a new record, thanks to the Government’s Business Digitization Program (PDE). In recent months, the initiative has seen a significant increase in adoption, with more than 100 companies recently joining the program, bringing the total to 273 since its launch in late 2022.
Fast Response to Demand
Faced with such intense demand, the initial budget item of 286,460 euros intended for the PDE for the year 2024 has quickly been used up. Thus, the Government has decided to increase this amount by an additional 260,000 euros, bringing the total budget to 546,460 euros, the highest amount so far in the program’s history.
Motivations Behind the Increase
According to the statements of Marc Rossell, Secretary of State for Digital Transformation and Telecommunications, this growth in the interest of companies is the result of the modifications introduced in June, which expanded the subsidy services for the implementation of digital solutions . The aim is to provide personalized support to companies in order to increase their digital maturity.
Details of the Requests
Since the launch of these new services on June 5, 103 companies have requested aid, representing 60% of the total number of companies that have participated in the program. Among these requests, 58 have focused on the latest offerings, including online store development, SEO services, digitization training, and cyber security.
Future of the Digitization Program
With this new injection of resources and the intention to improve access to the PDE, Rossell has highlighted the importance of this program in the context of the 2020-2030 Digitalization Strategy. In addition, new communication campaigns are being planned to get information about the PDE to more potential companies, as well as a reinforcement of the service catalog, which has already seen a 20% increase in the number of providers.
