The ‘La Caixa’ Foundation acquires 9.4% of ACS
As reported this Friday to the National Securities Market Commission, the investment group of the ‘La Caixa’ Foundation has acquired 9.4% of ACS, an infrastructure multinational. This acquisition represents a significant investment move by Criteria, the investment holding of the ‘La Caixa’ Foundation.
The operation has been valued at 983 million euros, according to data provided by the same company. This investment further strengthens Criteria’s presence in the market and consolidates its positions in the infrastructure sector.
Capital increase and acquisition of Colonial real estate
In addition to the acquisition of ACS, Criteria has recently made official the acquisition of 17% of Colonial real estate. This operation is part of a capital increase process that has allowed Criteria to increase its portfolio of investments in strategic companies.
In total, Criteria has invested 622 million euros in this capital increase process, of which 272 million have been specified in assets and the rest in cash. This investment strategy has allowed Criteria to consolidate its position as a key investor in the market.
Other notable investments
In addition to ACS and Colonial real estate, Criteria has made other notable investments in companies such as Puig and Cellnex. In the case of Puig, Criteria has acquired 3.05% of the share capital, with a value of around 305 million euros. As for Cellnex, Criteria holds 3% of the telecommunications infrastructure company.
Presence in other strategic companies
In addition to the aforementioned investments, Criteria also has a significant presence in other strategic companies in Spain. Among them, Telefónica and Naturgy stand out. In the case of Telefónica, Criteria has increased its share in the capital to 5%, while in the case of Naturgy, Criteria controls a significant fraction of the capital.
These investments reflect Criteria’s confidence in the growth potential of these companies and its commitment to the Spanish economy.
