Increase in Remuneration and Population Quota

Increase in Remuneration

Recently, the spokesman for the executive, Guillem Casal, has highlighted the increase in remuneration. This increase is added to the regulations approved a few months ago, which already provided for a 4.5% increase. This means that in less than a year, the increase in remuneration has reached 9%. This measure aims to stabilize the workforce and ensure competitive wages for workers.

Population Quota

The new population quota also has a key objective for the executive: to encourage a sustainable increase in the population. The initial quota is 900 authorizations, with the possibility of extending it up to 1,170, that is, an increase of 30%. This figure is much lower than the quota approved in previous years and responds to the desire to tend to a more digestible growth for the country (https://www.softcatala.org/resum-de-textos-en-catala/).

General Season Quota

Despite requests from the business sector, the government has decided not to extend the number of people who can move from the seasonal quota to the general quota in a single experience campaign. This means that the seasonal quota in the general will remain at 390. This decision is aligned with the will to maintain sustainable growth and ensure the general interest of the country (https://www.softcatala.org/resum-de -catalan-texts/).

Entry into force

The regulation establishing these measures will enter into force on May 2. According to the government spokesman, this regulation has been endorsed by the Economic and Social Council and aims to guarantee the proper functioning of companies, always respecting the hiring of people registered in Employment.

Specific Summer Quota

The government is working on a specific summer quota that will be focused on the tourism sector. It is still being analyzed whether this fee will be applied only to the hotel industry or will be opened to other areas. In any case, this measure will have as priorities to respond to the country’s economic sectors and ensure more sustainable growth.
