Inditex will reopen stores in Ukraine after two years of war-related closures

Gradual reopening of stores and online

After two years of closure due to the war, Inditex has announced a plan to gradually reopen its stores and online platform in Ukraine from April 1. This plan will be adjusted according to market conditions, according to company sources.

Reopening of 20 stores in the Kyiv area

Initially, around 20 stores of the group’s seven brands, including three from Zara, are scheduled to reopen in the Kyiv area from April 1. Subsequently, stores are planned to open in Léopolis, with communications already underway with the corresponding shopping centers.

Forecast of expansion of the store network

According to reports, in the coming months, Inditex could open around fifty of the 80 stores it has in the country, adapting to market conditions and current circumstances.

Resumption of the distribution of online orders

Also, the seven brands of the Inditex group will resume the distribution of online orders in the country, coinciding with the reopening of their first physical stores. The customer service conditions will be announced at that time on the brands’ online platforms.

Priority in the safety of employees and customers

Company sources have assured that the safety of employees and customers remains the group’s priority. Since February 2022, a special plan has been applied to support employees and their families, guaranteeing the employment and wages of the entire workforce in the country.

Commitment to the quality and training of the workforce

Inditex is working on the refurbishment of the establishments and has launched training programs for store staff in the Polish subsidiary, thus ensuring quality standards in the commercial experience it offers in all the markets where it is present.

Community contribution and humanitarian support

In addition to business initiatives, Inditex has contributed with humanitarian support, donating 3 million euros to help the population and refugees through UNHCR. It has also offered jobs in its subsidiary in Poland to people displaced from Ukraine.
