Impulse to renew the health system
The Department of Health has allocated more than 25.1 million euros in two years to improve health facilities in Central Catalonia, with a focus on the transformation of emergency services and the modernization of hospitals in Berga, Vic and Laziness
Improvement of emergency services and primary care
The investments have made it possible to implement territorial urgent care models, collaborating with health providers to improve care centered on people. The hospitals in Berga and Vic have experienced a complete renovation of the emergency services, as well as improvements in the security and technology of the centers.
A multi-year payment of 8 million euros has been allocated to Sant Joan de Déu de Manresa to address the pending expenses of the new hospital building. In primary care, expansion works have been carried out in several localities and the transfer process of the Solsonès Health Center has begun.
Investments in new healthcare models
The investment has boosted the improvement of care circuits and the implementation of new models of continuity in primary care. This has made it possible to increase citizens’ accessibility to the health system and reduce waiting lists, with a notable increase in healthcare activity and outstanding results in access to primary care.
Through the Primary Care Strengthening Plan, new community roles and incentive initiatives have been developed to attract professionals to areas with access difficulties. Local collaboration is key to addressing the lack of staff in primary and specialist care.
Territorial pact for integrated social and health care
Central Catalonia establishes a territorial pact to promote integrated social and health care, with the creation of the future Integrated Social and Health Agency. The deployment of the first projects includes health care in residences and home care experiences to improve coordination between social and health services.
