La Farsa presents in Manresa Una vella, well-known smell, a classic by Benet and Jornet

The work, written in 1962, portrays the life of the Barcelona proletariat after the war

The Bergueda theater company La Farsa will bring Una vella, well-known smell, one of the most emblematic works of Josep Maria Benet i Jornet, to the Bages capital this spring. The work, which premiered in 1965, reflects the life without much hope of the workers of post-war Barcelona, through the story of Maria, a young woman who wants to escape the impositions of the social order. An old, familiar smell is a text full of memories, melodies and aromas of a time gone by, but which is still valid.

The cast and the live music, the attractions of the function

The play will have the same cast that played it in Berga last season, with Antònia Molera, Joan Barcons, Sònia Ferrer, Anna E. Puig, Laura Corominas, Eva Corominas, Marc Corominas, Eric Calderer, Laia Coma, Lourdes Sensada and Marta Robert as actresses and actors. In addition, one of the differentiating elements of the function will be the live music, by Júlia Camprubí and her piano, which will accompany the scenes and dialogues with melodies from the time.

The performance can be seen at the Conservatory Theater on April 28

An old, well-known smell will be performed at the Teatre Conservatori de Manresa on April 28 at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are now on sale and most of the seats have been sold. The function is an invitation from the small hall of the Kursaal, which was impressed by the result of the play in Berga, where it gathered almost a thousand people in three passes in the Municipal Theatre. La Farsa had already performed at the Conservatory in 2019, when it brought The Diary of Anne Frank, an experience they remember with satisfaction.

La Farsa will also offer other works in Berga

In addition to Una vella, knowno olor, which can be seen again in Berga on April 21 at 9:30 p.m., La Farsa will also present this spring L’húbitación de la Verònica, a thriller with a powerful and surprising text, according to advanced Anna E. Puig in the presentation of the 2024 season at the Berga Municipal Theatre. The work can be seen on March 23 and 24.
