Borrow under the financial tutelage of the Generalitat
Manlleu, the main point of discussion at the March meeting of the Manlleu City Council, held this Tuesday, revolved around the liquidation of the municipal budget for the year 2023. The council closed the previous year with a remaining negative of 2.3 million euros, which means that the expenses were greater than the income, being the real expenses of 3.7 MEUR. This means that the council must take measures to reverse this situation, such as the preparation of a sanitation plan, a mechanism that, under the financial tutelage of the Generalitat de Catalunya, will involve measures to bring the economic situation back to the council , in this case, measures that will affect the municipal budget 3 years from now.
The mayor’s explanations
The mayor, Arnau Rovira, explained that complex decisions will have to be made and that there may be services that will have to be closed. Rovira asked for unity among all the council’s groups, to create an economic commission and to ensure that everyone works together to find solutions to reverse the situation.
