A hundred artists will intervene in the neighborhood with their works
On Sunday, April 28, the ninth edition of Pinta Malasaña will be held, the most relevant urban art event in the country. During that day, the center of Madrid will become an open-air museum, where the artists selected by the organization will show their talent and creativity on doors, shop windows, walls, glass or closures that the merchants, neighbors and institutions of the neighborhood will have. previously transferred.
Pinta Malasaña is a joint initiative of Madrid Street Art Project and Somos Malasaña, which has the support of the merchant associations Vive Malasaña and AHM, as well as municipal institutions such as the Condeduque Cultural Center and the Central District Board. The objective is to promote art and culture in the neighborhood, and generate a link between artists, neighbors, visitors and merchants.
How to participate as a business, community of neighbors or institution?
If you have a premises, a portal or a space in the neighborhood and you want it to be intervened by an artist, you just have to sign up for the participation form that you will find below. You will not have to pay anything for the decoration of your blinds, glass, door or wall. You will only have to give the space to the artist assigned to you by the organization, and let him or her do their work with complete freedom. You will not be able to choose the theme or the final design of the work, but trust in the criteria of the organization and the artistic quality of the participants.

Registration requirements
These are the requirements that you must meet if you want to participate as a business, community of neighbors or institution:
- Give up your door, glass, blinds or wall for an artistic intervention that will take place on Sunday, April 28, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Keep the intervened space visible throughout the event (from 8:00 a.m. to 20.00). The business may be open or closed, but the intervened space may not be hidden at any time.
- Facilitate the artist’s work during Pinta Malasaña day.
- Leave the artistic intervention exposed at least a week (without prejudice to the business opening after April 28 during its usual hours).
- That the business, institution or portal is located in the area of the Central district established in the following map , within the perimeter marked by Carranza, Conde Duque, San Bernardino, Pez, Puebla, Valverde, Farmacia, Hortaleza and Beneficiencia streets. If your location is not within this perimeter but is close by and you want to participate, sign up and we will also evaluate your candidacy.
How to register
If you are interested in signing up for Pinta Malasaña 2024, fill out the following participation form as soon as possible. The registration period ends on February 24.
At the beginning of April, the businesses selected to host one of the contest’s works will be announced (the organization cannot guarantee the participation of all registered stores due to the high number of applications received each year).
