Rent subsidies for the Intermediate Age Group: Opportunity to Maintain Residence

Housing Sustainability Support

The Department of Land has launched a call to offer financial assistance to those individuals between the ages of 36 and 64 who need to maintain their residential stability. This initiative, launched this Monday, aims to provide vital support for those who, despite not being in a situation of imminent exclusion, require help to continue living in their homes.

Economic Flexibility

Rental subsidies, managed by the Catalan Housing Agency, differ from traditional subsidies due to their personalized approach. Instead of a fixed amount, these are adjusted to individual income, offering support that ranges from 20 to 200 euros per month. This allows assistance to be tailored to each applicant’s level of need.

Geographical considerations

Geographical requirements are also considered in this aid program. The maximum subsidized rent limit varies according to the location of the home. In Barcelona and other metropolitan areas, this limit is 900 euros per month per house and 450 euros per room. In other demarcations, such as Girona, Tarragona, Lleida and the Terres de l’Ebre, these figures are reduced, providing a specific response to local needs.

Application Procedure

Applications can be made both electronically, through the Generalitat de Catalunya’s Procedures portal, and in person, following the instructions provided in the call. The deadline for submitting applications ends on May 10, offering a window of opportunity for those interested.
