The Cantonigròs Festival brings back the flags of Israel and the Valencian Country

The flags had been stolen by unidentified individuals earlier in the week. The festival organizers have put them back in place.

An act of vandalism against the festival

The Cantonigròs Music Festival, which is held every year in Atlântida de Vic, suffered an act of vandalism this week. Unknown people stole the flags of Israel and the Valencian Country, which were part of the decoration of the festival, where choirs and orchestras from different countries participate. Flagpoles appeared broken and insignia disappeared.

Those responsible for the festival reported the events to the police and expressed their rejection of this aggression. They affirmed that the festival is a space of coexistence, respect and diversity, where there is no room for intolerance or violence. They recalled that the flags represent the participating countries and that they have no political or ideological intention.

The flags fly again at the festival

This Friday, the organizers of the festival announced that they had managed to recover the flags of Israel and the Valencian Country, thanks to the public’s collaboration. They explained that some people brought them the flags, which had been abandoned in a field. They thanked the gesture of solidarity and hung the flags back in their place, where they will fly until the end of the festival.

The Cantonigròs Music Festival, which started last Thursday and will end on Sunday, is one of the most important cultural events in the Osona region. This year, it has the participation of more than 40 musical groups from 15 different countries, who offer concerts and shows of high quality. The festival also has a charitable aspect, as it allocates part of the profits to social and humanitarian projects.
