The Baix Llobregat County Observatory has published monthly labor market data, highlighting several important aspects.

Decrease in job applicants

A decrease in job applicants has been observed compared to January 2024. Unemployed applicants have increased by 15%, while the rest of applicants have decreased by 19.5%.

Increase in unemployment in certain economic activities

An increase in unemployment has been registered in economic activities related to social services without accommodation (+29%) and information technology services (+46%) (https://www.softcatala.org/ summary-of-texts-in-catalan/). This contrasts with activities related to employment and the manufacture of motor vehicles, which have decreased in the number of claimants (https://www.softcatala.org/resum-de-textos-en-catala/).

Variation in employment

The number of jobs in the region has increased by 1,441 compared to the month of January, placing the total affiliation in the Baix Llobregat at 360,844 affiliations (https://www.softcatala.org/resum-de-textos-en-catala /).
