Claims of Educational Care Personnel before the Department of Education

Concentration to Claim Improvements

This Thursday, the educational staff gathered at the doors of the Department of Education to express their demands in relation to working conditions and the recognition of their work in educational centers. This rally coincided with a meeting at the ministry to address various demands of the group.

Reclassification and Recognition

Among the requests of the educational staff, the reclassification of this group and the transformation of early childhood education techniques in rural schools into educational ones stand out. Anna Giménez, from the CGT, has expressed her concern over the fact that the ministry does not consider them as educational staff, even though they carry out educational tasks. He emphasized: “We are dedicated to education”.

Lack of Response and Protest Actions

Giménez expressed the feeling of non-compliance and regretted the lack of response to his claims. For this reason, CGT trade union delegates have gathered at the doors of Education and plan to repeat the action this afternoon, with the hope that the workers of the centers will be able to participate.

Other Outstanding Demands

The demands also include the formal recognition of the month of July as training month, the annual opening of the job exchange for all categories, the possibility of registering by population, the integration of educational staff within the General Directorate of teachers and staff of public schools, the conversion of half-time contracts and the presence of a special education teacher in each kindergarten.

Support and Future Actions

Today, PAE colleagues and @CgtLaborals were supported in Via Augusta. The Laia Plensa campaign shared the situation and urged @educaciocat and @AnnaSimo to be aware of the situation. Protest actions are expected to continue in the future.
