The company will celebrate its 50th anniversary with the fourth version of the musical
Dagoll Dagom will put an end to his career on stage with ‘Mar i Cel’, the most emblematic musical in Catalan. Castings have started today to choose the final cast and tickets have also gone on sale. The company, which coincides with the centenary of the Guimerà year, will premiere a season that will begin in September at the Teatre Victòria. It will be a unique opportunity, since since 2019, the room has been owned by Mago Pop. Tickets can be purchased through the website of Mar i Cel or the Teatre Victòria and can be changed until July 31, 2024 at no cost.
Mar i Cel, a benchmark for musical theater in Catalan
Mar i Cel was one of the first big bets of the Generalitat to support a large-format show in Catalan, which premiered in 1988. Albert Guinovart’s music and the ship’s spectacularity were a big attraction . Since then it has undoubtedly been the most representative flag of the company (which has also made television series such as Oh, Europa or La memoria dels cargols).
To participate in the casting, they received a thousand applications. Today they started to select among the 109 invited to the tests. Anna Rosa Cisquella and Miquel Periel direct this farewell taking over from Joan Lluís Bozzo (who already retired from the stage coinciding with the sale of the 3xtr3s theater to mag).
Sea and Sky, a success with the public and critics
In the four seasons (1988, 2004, 2014) they have totaled 1.2 million, mainly at the Teatre Victòria, but also touring Spain in 1990 (146 performances, 191,000 spectators) and a stay at The Opera Halle, in Germany in 2007 (14 performances, 10,000 viewers). The degree, which was the first contact with theater for many professional artists today, has so far welcomed 178,677 students during school hours. Another adaptation, L’alegría que passa, was the last show created by the company. They premiered it in 2022 and reprized it at Poliorama again this Christmas, with remarkable success.
