Danone expresses its full commitment to the Font Vella plant in Sant Hilari Sacalm

Danone’s intentions towards its production

Danone has expressed its absolute commitment in relation to the Parets del Vallès plant, announcing the transfer of part of the production to other manufacturing centers. According to union reports, 90% of its cow’s milk-based products will be manufactured in Madrid or Aldaia (Valencia), while the remaining 10%, which includes plant-based products, will be made in Belgium.

Meeting of the intercenter committee and concerns

During an important inter-centre committee meeting held last Friday, Danone representatives openly addressed the issue of production relocation. This situation raised concerns about how it could affect other interests of the company in Catalonia, such as the central offices in Barcelona and the bottling plant located in Sant Hilari Sacalm.

Danone’s commitment to Catalonia

The unions have stated that Danone managers have reaffirmed their absolute commitment to maintaining their presence in Spain and, in particular, Catalonia. According to consulted sources, this commitment refers to the other work centers that the company has in Catalonia, such as the offices and the research center in Barcelona, as well as the Sant Hilari Sacalm bottling plant, especially the well-known brand Font Vella.
