The Igualada Som-hi proposal at the City Council meeting
The municipal group of Igualada Som-hi (PSC – Igualada Oberta) will present a motion to the plenary of the City Council of the capital of Anoia to request that the timetables of the buses between Igualada and Barcelona provided by the company Monbus appear in the Google Maps mobile app. The aim of this initiative is to facilitate citizens’ travel and forecasting, since they consider Google Maps to be a tool widely used by the population.
Benefits for citizens
According to the councilor of Igualada Som-hi, Anselm Pasquina, the inclusion of bus timetables on Google Maps would allow citizens to better plan their journeys and encourage the use of public transport. Currently, the only public transport option that Google Maps shows between Igualada and Barcelona is the FGC train, leaving aside the entire bus offer, which is faster and has more frequencies.
Other requests to improve public transport
In addition to the inclusion of bus timetables on Google Maps, Igualada Som-hi has promoted other measures to improve public transport, such as the demand to increase bus capacity, the creation of the bus lane on the B-23 entry into Barcelona and the launch of an express bus line with other locations. These actions aim to improve the connectivity and accessibility of citizens through public transport.
