Concrete Measures for Effective Inclusion
Within the framework of International Labor Day, the Castilla-La Mancha Full Inclusion Federation has made a firm call for the implementation of specific measures that promote the labor inclusion of people with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
Regulatory Compliance and Necessary Adaptations
The managing director of the federation, Daniel Collado, has emphasized the need to demand strict compliance with regulations on the hiring of workers with disabilities, minimizing alternative measures and reviewing sanctions for non-compliance.
Furthermore, it highlights the importance of guaranteeing work environments adapted to the individual needs of these workers, making the necessary modifications to the jobs.
Worrying Statistics and Specific Demands
The latest INE report on Employment of People with Disabilities reveals an activity rate of 36.4% among people with intellectual disabilities, 41.6 points lower than the population without disabilities.
Its employment rate is also significantly lower, registering 23.8%, which represents a difference of 44.8 points with the rest of the citizenry.
Full Inclusion Castilla-La Mancha demands advice from companies on incentives and processes for incorporating people with disabilities, as well as a specific budget allocated to this aid.
Essential Collaboration and Awareness Raising
Collaboration between the regional administration, public employment services and entities specialized in disabilities is crucial to promote labor and social inclusion.
These actors play a fundamental role in raising awareness among the business community so that it promotes effective hiring and not just alternative measures such as donations or contracts with special employment centers.
Information, Training and Various Opportunities
Daniel Collado has highlighted the need to improve information collection systems to better understand the socio-labor reality of people with disabilities and evaluate the impact of policies aimed at this group.
It has also emphasized the development of accessible training plans adapted to digital transformations to guarantee equal opportunities in the workplace.
In addition, more job opportunities should be promoted in sectors other than those traditionally linked to people with intellectual disabilities.
A Call to Society
Full Inclusion Castilla-La Mancha has called on society in general, public administrations and companies to adopt concrete measures to ensure the labor inclusion of people with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
This inclusion will contribute to a more just and equal society for all.
Under the hashtag #FullEmployment, people assigned to the training services of Plena Inclusion Castilla-La Mancha entities have expressed their demands to achieve a society of opportunities for all.
