Sant Feliu will have a new CAP and CUAP
Sant Feliu will have a new Primary Care Center (CAP), which will include a Primary Care Emergency Center (CUAP). The mayor, Lídia Muñoz, has announced this news in a joint press conference with the deputy of En Comú Podem al Parlament, Joan Carles Gallego. This new CAP and CUAP will be moved from the CAP Rambla and will be built in the area of the old football field. This action is not dependent on the underground works and will be directly available from the City Council, allowing the CAP works to be carried out in parallel.
Improvement of health care in Sant Feliu
The social movements of the city and the commission of pensioners have been demanding an improvement of health care in Sant Feliu for years. According to the mayor, this initiative is the result of previous work done by the City Council to improve services and health resources in the city. The CAP Rambla, considered one of the most outdated in the South Metro area, will be replaced by this new CAP and CUAP, which will offer rehabilitation and pediatric services, among others.
The CUAP, a claim fulfilled
The creation of a Primary Care Emergency Center (CUAP) in Sant Feliu is a demand that dates back ten years. After much political and institutional battle, this demand has become a reality. The current agreement between the City Council and CatSalut has made it possible to centralize and organize health resources in the same building, together with the new CAP. In addition to the CUAP, the new CAP will also have rehabilitation and pediatric services.
Pediatric service claim
The city council continues to demand the return of the pediatric service to CAP El Pla. Although there is currently a pediatric nurse in El Pla who carries out check-ups on children, the council insists on bringing back the full pediatric service. According to the mayor, it is important to cover the interests of the city and ensure that the pediatric service is available in El Pla.
