The Provincial Court of Girona ratifies the dissolution of the mixed company AGISSA
The Provincial Court of Girona has issued an order upholding the appeal filed by the Girona City Council and ratifying the dissolution of the mixed company AGISSA S.A., as announced by the Girona City Council in a statement, which adds that the judicial body gives the right to the City Council before the private party and appoints an entity in charge of liquidating the company.
The municipalization process of water
In this way, the economic capital that had remained in AGISSA despite the municipalization of the service will pass into the hands of the public entities that have derived from it. The mayor of Girona, Lluc Salellas i Vilar, has celebrated the judicial decision and has claimed the process started years ago and which has allowed the municipalization of water: “Closing the AGISSA folder is good news for the city and it shows that the work done over the years to reach public water management was essential”. The mayor of Salt, Jordi Viñas, also emphasized that the court order “validates the process followed by the three constituent councils of AGISSA, which has made it possible to convert the then mixed company into a new management company for the water, now 100% municipal”. For its part, the Sarrià de Ter City Council has also positively assessed the sentence.
