A unique and innovative space
The Olot Crater Space is a fascinating place that has attracted nearly 100,000 visitors in its first two years of existence. Since its inauguration in 2022, a total of 98,263 people have had the opportunity to enjoy this unique experience. In addition, it should be noted that a quarter of these visitors (23,719) were students from various educational centers, demonstrating the interest that this space arouses among young people.
A diverse and international audience
Espai Cràter aims to reach a more diverse and international audience. Currently, 84% of visitors come from Catalonia, while 7% come from the Valencian Community, the Balearic Islands, the Basque Country and Madrid. The remaining 9% are foreign visitors. Among these, France is the country that most visits the facility, followed by the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and the United Kingdom. It should be noted that the population of La Garrotxa represents only 11% of the total number of visitors, demonstrating the appeal of the Espai Cràter beyond its geographical area.
A well-valued experience
Visitors to the Espai Cràter have rated this experience very positively. According to the surveys carried out by the same center, visitors have given an average score of 9.37 to the experience, improving by two tenths the score of the first year of operation. This demonstrates the satisfaction of the visitors and the quality of the equipment.
A complete visit
A third of visitors come to the city expressly to visit the Espai Cràter, while 67% take the opportunity to get to know other cultural facilities or natural spaces in the city or the region. In addition, 48% of visitors decide to spend the night in La Garrotxa, demonstrating the overall tourist attraction of the area.
Recognition of European funds
On the occasion of the second anniversary of the Espai Cràter, the representatives of the operational program FEDER de Catalunya 2014-2020, in which members of the European Commission, the Ministry of Finance and the Generalitat of Catalonia participate, have visited the installations locations This visit has been described as very important by the mayor of the city, Pep Berga, since he remembers that European funds were decisive for the construction of this equipment.
