The Qualifying Jury of the 10th ‘José Sánchez de la Rosa’ Journalism Prize, made up of eminent academics, historians and journalists, was unanimously impressed by Suárez’s work. His narrative quality, originality, rigor and research effort met all the criteria established by the award rules.

José Iván Suárez: A Versatile Journalist

José Iván Suárez, a native of Elche de la Sierra, is a journalist with a diverse career. Graduated in Journalism from the Complutense University of Madrid, he has collaborated with numerous media, including La Tribuna de Albacete and Sierra Viva. His passion for the rural world has led him to be part of the Network of Rural Journalists of Spain, where he shares his knowledge and promotes quality journalism in rural areas.

A Prestigious Award

The ‘José Sánchez de la Rosa’ Journalism Award is a highly prestigious award that pays tribute to the first secretary of the local press and Official Chronicler of the City, José Sánchez de la Rosa. The award recognizes the journalistic work that best reflects the heritage, traditions, economy and culture of the province of Albacete.

A Recognition Ceremony

On April 20, at the Water Interpretation Center, the traditional award ceremony will take place. In it, the Albacete Journalists Association will present the 2023 Yearbook, as well as the City of Albacete Photojournalism Award and recognitions for professional career and journalistic collaboration.
