The Berguedà Regional Council implements a new waste collection system

The Berguedà County Council has launched the last phase for the implementation of the new waste collection system in the Berguedà capital. From March 4, the containers will be delivered to the residents of the Old Quarter. The distribution will take place at Berga Town Hall on several dates during the month of March.

Hours and collection areas

The service will be available from 10.00 to 13.00 hours and from 16.00 to 19.00 hours. The residents of the designated streets and squares must collect the new containers on the established dates.

Collection areas

The containers will be distributed to the neighbors of the streets: Agricultura, Alpens, Bon Repòs, Baixada de la Ribera, Callissot del Lledó, Cardona, Castellar del Riu, Cercs, Ciutat, Clavé, Borredà, Buxadé, Caritat, Instruction, Muralla, Lluís Rosal, Santa Magdalena, Menorets, Balç, Carme, Trencacames, Harmonia, Balmes, Joan Oliver, Monsignor Marcel·lí Boixader i Bonet, Verdaguer, Monsignor Comellas, Monsignor Espelt, Monsignor Huch, Paraires, Father Antoni Baylina, Pietat, Pinsania, Pompeu Fabra, Puig-reig, Sant Antoni, Sant Francesc, Torre de les Hores and Vilada. In addition, they will be distributed to the residents of the squares: Catalunya, de l’Om, Santa Magdalena, Ciutat, de la Ribera, de les Fonts, del Doctor Saló, del Forn, Maragall, Sant Joan, Sant Pere, Sant Ramon, up del Castell, Cal Parraqué, Sant Francesc, Queralt round, Balç, Borredà and Pietat crossings.

Requirements for the collection of containers

Residents must present the ticket they will have received at home with the information letter, duly completed. If you have not received the letter, you can fill in the ticket at the designated collection point.

Additional information

During the delivery of the containers in the Old Quarter, the Door to Door Public Service Office, located in the Telecentre, will remain closed. This new waste collection system will make it possible to deposit leftover fractions, packaging, paper and cardboard, homogenizing the door-to-door system throughout Berguedà. The Regional Council points out that 75.11% of the planned containers have already been delivered since the system was launched in September 2023.
