Campaign objectives
The initiative ‘Move for zero waste in Manlleu!’ was presented this Tuesday in Manlleu, as part of the imminent implementation of the “door to door” selective collection system. This campaign is part of the local municipal waste prevention plan and has as its main objectives environmental education, waste reduction, promotion of local commerce and inclusive gamification.
Activities and participation
The campaign promotes sustainable habits through challenges and activities, encourages waste reduction and seeks to strengthen collaboration between citizens and the local commercial fabric. Through the “Go Zero Waste” application or by filling in a ticket and depositing it at the Municipal Market, participants can complete challenges to win prizes and discounts at shops and organizations in Manlleu.
Challenges and validation
The challenges in the application are classified by levels and ages, from shopping with a reusable bag to practices such as throwing the organic fraction in the brown bin, using reusable water bottles or going to work by bike. Participants must demonstrate through photographs that they have completed these challenges to validate them and access the rewards.
Presentation and public participation
The project was presented in the meeting room of the Manlleu City Council in the presence of municipal representatives and Magda Cebrián, co-founder of “Go Zero Waste”. Cebrián emphasized the importance of citizen participation and invited Manlleu establishments and entities to join the project through the website moutepelzero.cat/manlleu.
