The town councils join the Cabildo to create a unique agenda of cultural events on the Island

The Department of Culture of the Cabildo of La Palma, led by Pablo Díaz Cobiella, has obtained the support of the fourteen municipalities of the Island to develop a joint cultural and festive agenda of local events, as reported in a press release.

An agenda for everyone

Pablo Díaz Cobiella explains that the town councils will send all the information about their cultural activities every month, and that the island Institution will be in charge of compiling and disseminating it in a single agenda that will facilitate access and participation of the inhabitants and visitors of the Island, as well as as the coordination between the different proposals.

A historic achievement

Pablo Díaz Cobiella, as indicated in the statement, highlights that this is a “historic achievement that all the institutions of the Island had desired for years, aware of the importance of coordinating efforts to offer the best possible cultural services to citizens.”

More efficiency and more dynamism

In this way, he adds, “it is possible to optimize the public spending that municipalities and Cabildo allocate to maintaining these cultural and leisure activities, also allowing a greater economic and social benefit for each locality and for the Island in general.”

A collaborative initiative

Pablo Díaz Cobiella points out that this initiative “goes in line with promoting collaboration between administrations, valuing the work carried out by the municipalities in favor of the culture and traditions of the Island.”

An agreement resulting from dialogue

This agreement was reached within the framework of a meeting held at the Benahoarita Archaeological Museum, with the presence of political and technical officials from the fourteen municipalities, and which “allows progress on different issues related to the island cultural sector.”
