Violence, feminism and culture: An event organized by Fet in Sant Feliu

Ruth Tormo and Jenn Díaz present their books

Last Tuesday, the Athenaeum hosted the event ‘Violence, feminism and culture’, organized by Fet in Sant Feliu. During the event, San Feliuenca authors Ruth Tormo and Jenn Díaz presented their latest books. Ruth Tormo is a journalist and has written several children’s novels, while Jenn Díaz is a former MP and author of six novels.

Key themes: feminism and violence

The conversation between Ruth Tormo and Jenn Díaz, led by editor Mariona Pina, addressed two important topics: feminism and violence. The authors emphasized the importance of putting their works in context and talked about psychological violence and toxic love.

Visibility and education as solutions

Both Ruth Tormo and Jenn Díaz agreed on the importance of making these problems visible as a way to eradicate silence. They stressed the need to work from the base, talking to the sons and daughters at home, and highlighted sex education as a possible solution to reverse belligerent attitudes against feminism.
