20 migrants who arrived on a boat to a beach in Granada arrested

The Civil Guard arrests 20 migrants in Albuñol

On Monday night, the Civil Guard arrested 20 immigrants of North African origin on a beach in Albuñol, in the province of Granada. The migrants reached the coast by jumping from a rubber boat that fled. 5 other North Africans managed to escape.

The boat fled

The boat, occupied by 25 people, arrived in an area near La Rábita beach in Albuñol. Before reaching the shore, the migrants jumped into the water so the boat could escape out to sea.

20 people arrested and 1 taken to hospital

The Civil Guard managed to arrest 20 people on the beach, except for one who was taken to the Motril Hospital with slight hypothermia. The detained migrants were transferred to the port of Motril, where they received medical attention from the Red Cross.

Search for the remaining migrants

The Civil Guard maintains a device on La Rábita beach to search for the five migrants who have not been detained and who were also traveling on the same boat.

Medical care for migrants

Once in the port of Motril, the migrants received medical attention from the Red Cross. According to sources from the humanitarian organization, all the migrants are in good condition, except for some who required special attention but not seriously.

Transfer of migrants to the reception center

The migrants will be transferred to the Temporary Reception Center for Emigrants (CATE) located in the port of Motril. There they will remain in the custody of the National Police.
