30 years of music in Tarragona: a sound trip

An unforgettable gala to remember

This Friday, May 16, the Municipal School of Music of Tarragona will dress in gala to commemorate three decades of dedication to musical teaching. The Fair and Congresses Palace will be the scene of a special concert that will begin at 6:30 p.m. Students of various levels, from beginners to advanced, will show their talent in an event that promises to be memorable.

Outstanding artists and collaborations

The conduction of the event will be in charge of the charismatic actress Neus Pàmies, who will guide the public through a unique musical experience. In addition, the illustrations of the renowned Octavi artist Turné will add a visual touch that will complement the actions of the students, who will be presented in different formations, including choirs and instrumental sets.

Trajectory of the Municipal School of Music

Founded in 1994, the school has experienced constant growth in its educational offer and in the number of students. During these 30 years, it has been a fundamental pillar for the community, reaching more than a thousand students annually and providing access to music to thousands of citizens.

Innovative projects for all

Since 2006, the school has expanded its scope through initiatives such as Picantols, a program aimed at children from 0 to 3 years in municipal nurseries. Likewise, the Mirasona project focuses on music education within special education schools, ensuring that music is accessible to all.

A space for musical learning

The school operates in three different venues: Armanyà, Sant Pere I Sant Pau and Poniente, each offering a variety of programs adapted to different musical styles and age groups. This diversity allows music to reach every corner of Tarragona, promoting an inclusive and enriching atmosphere.

Music as right and cultural growth

Musical education is recognized as a fundamental right, and the Municipal School of Music of Tarragona has played a crucial role in the cultural development of the city. By providing quality training to students of all ages, the school not only teaches music, but also contributes to the personal and social growth of its students.

Reflections on the musical future

As the school celebrates its 30th anniversary, a promising future full of opportunities is glimpsed to continue expanding its impact on the community. Music, as a form of artistic expression, will continue to be a vehicle for human development, joining generations and enriching everyone’s life in Tarragona.
