A Catalan cafe in Copenhagen: a gastronomic find

A unique experience in the Danish city

As a well-known president said in the past, Catalans have a unique way of doing things. This also applies to our diaspora, as many Catalans decide to migrate to other countries in search of new professional and personal opportunities. One of these Catalans is Nacho Jodar, a young entrepreneur who decided to settle in Copenhagen after completing his studies in advertising and marketing.

Upon arriving in Copenhagen, Jodar intended to take a sabbatical and work in the hospitality industry. But fate had other plans for him. After working in several establishments, he decided to start his own business and that’s how Orsa was born, a specialty cafe located in the trendy district of Vesterbo.

A simple and sustainable card

Orsa stands out for its triptych offer: bread with butter and cheese, yoghurt and rested oat flakes. Its philosophy is to offer quality products with a simple and sustainable preparation. In addition, the cafe offers a rotating selection of fresh baked goods, both homemade and purchased from the best bakeries in town.

A gastronomic find in Copenhagen

Orsa has become a real gastronomic find in the Danish square. Its welcoming atmosphere and excellent customer service make visitors feel at home. In addition, Jodar’s Mediterranean influence is evident in the way he understands service and the importance he places on creating a pleasant atmosphere for his customers.

Jodar emphasizes that in Catalonia, and in general in southern Europe, there is a greater awareness of the importance of hospitality and of doing it well. In Copenhagen, on the other hand, he missed the warmth and common sense that characterizes the establishments of his country of origin.

A passion for specialty coffee

At Orsa, specialty coffee is one of his great passions. Jodar works with roasters around the world to offer their customers a unique experience. In Copenhagen, the taste for specialty coffee has long been established and people are willing to pay the price. This allows Jodar to source from the best suppliers and offer a selection of high quality coffees.

With the success of Orsa, Jodar is already looking for another space to open a new cafe in Copenhagen. His passion for hospitality and his unique way of doing things make this Catalan gastronomic find a must-stop for lovers of good coffee and sweets in the Danish city.
