Remembering visits to Aunt Grandma
Every Wednesday afternoon, the school became the starting point for a special trip to my aunt grandmothers Victoria, who resided in Rambla Catalunya, just minutes from our school. She was a family ritual that united us, and my mother was excited to see her, a woman who lived up to one hundred and eight years old.
A snack full of nostalgia
The entrance home was always cozy; The victory received us with a snack that looked like a fairy tale: crunchy cookies and sweet milk, whether with sugar or cocoa. With my sisters, we immersed ourselves in old games that she had kept with love, like a bingo and a wooden market where we played to be clients and dependents.
The tapestry: more than decoration
Among all those memories, what captivated me most was the great tapestry that hung in the dining room. Painted by victory and his sister, he showed a boy of our age surrounded by an unusual animal company: a lion, a panther, a lamb, a wolf and a cow. The boy, with a hug to the lion, guided this peculiar manada on a path that seemed to be full of adventures.
Imagining stories
Every time I looked at that image, my imagination was flying. I was wondering what adventures would live together, the child and the animals, and wanted to be part of that story of coexistence and harmony.
A message of hope
Over time, I discovered that the tapestry was much more than a work of art. It represented a message of hope, a reminder of the biblical passage of Isaiah 11: 6-9, which speaks of a world in which animals, usually considered enemies, coexist in peace, guided by an innocent child.
Victory: Witness of three centuries
The victory, which lived through three centuries, witnessed wars and moments of peace. Today, in a world that is still fighting division and conflict, the image of that child embraced by the Lion invites us to believe in the possibility of coexistence and harmony, as Isaiah promises, when the Lord’s knowledge fills the earth.
Final reflections
That tapestry, with its rich and deep symbolism, is still a source of inspiration. En un temps marcat per la incertesa, ens recorda que la pau i la comprensió són valors que sempre podem aspirar a aconseguir, i que les històries d’unitat són les que, al cap i a la fi, ens uneixen com a societat.
