A winter that challenges expectations
In Spain, winter temperatures seem to have become a warmer time, with a climate reminiscent of spring. This Thursday, citizens will enjoy a radiant day, with a sun that illuminates almost the entire territory. The current atmospheric conditions, marked by high pressure, have caused fogs in various regions, but they are expected to dissipate as the day progresses.
L’Alerta de Roberto Brasero’s alert
According to meteorologist Roberto Brasero’s forecasts, there will be a significant turn in time. Although the morning is presented with pleasant temperatures, in the afternoon the arrival of a cold front is expected that will bring drastic changes. This new meteorological system, which is approaching from the Atlantic, will be accompanied by intense winds, heavy rains and snowfall in mountainous areas.
Notice of the authorities
The State Meteorology Agency (AEMET) has warned of heavy gusts of wind, especially in Galicia and other northern regions, as well as in mountainous areas. The most prominent rainfall will be concentrated in Galicia, with a gradual increase in the rains to the center of the country.
The cold is back strongly
On Saturday, the Fred Front will extend east, affecting Catalonia and the Balearic Islands with rains. Although the front will begin to go back, the weather instability will continue, causing sprinkles in various areas. Nevades are expected in the Aragonese Pyrenees, with snow levels that will decline significantly.
A remarkable decrease in temperatures
Temperatures will experience a drastic fall, with values that could be up to 5 lower degrees compared to the previous days. However, the areas of the Mediterranean coast and the Balearic Islands can enjoy a moderate temperature, reaching 22 ° C.
A transitional Sunday
On Sunday the weather is expected to stabilize, with weak rains restricted in the northern and eastern parts of the country. The sun will shine again in much of the territory, although the temperatures will remain cooler, with the possibility of frosts in the highest areas.
Looking to the future
Roberto Brasero said the importance of following next week’s forecasts, as weather models suggest that new temperature increases could occur. If confirmed, Spain could see a return to a more temperate climate, which would break with the current winter cold.
