Christmas Classics and New Proposals

Those who wish to enjoy Christmas classics will find their appointment with the Barcelona Municipal Band, which will present the famous Suite from Tchaikovsky’s ‘The Nutcracker’ ballet on December 15, 2024. This concert will be accompanied by both Russian and Catalan carols, as well as other works that will evoke the magical winter landscape of Eastern Europe.

Pangea: A Musical Experience

A few days later, on December 29, 2024, Abraham Cupeiro’s work ‘Pangea’ will take us on a journey through time, exploring the deepest roots of civilization with ancient instruments that speak of our shared history.

Naturalesa i Música: Beethoven’s Pastoral

Classical music lovers will be able to delight in Beethoven’s sixth symphony, known as the Pastoral, which will be presented from December 20 to 22, 2024. This work, which captures the beauty of nature, will be performed by the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra and will feature Robert Schumann’s Cello Concerto in A minor, with the outstanding cellist Gautier Capuçon.

A Premiere and Unique Sounds

In addition, the orchestra will premiere ‘Simfonia efímera’, a work by Catalan composer José Río-Pareja that promises to explore new sounds and textures.

Jazz and Minimalist Music: A Double Concert

For jazz fans, December 20, 2024 is an unmissable date with the concert of Chiquelo and Mezquida, who will present ‘Del alma’, a work that fuses flamenco guitar and piano in a passionate dialogue.
