On Saturday the 16th at 6:00 p.m., the Teatre Municipal Ateneu will host an exceptional event organized by the La Llàntia Choral Group. The Granollers Chamber Choir will present ‘Venim de Clavé’, a concert dedicated to the figure of Josep Anselm Clavé, in commemoration of the bicentenary of his birth. Clavé is recognized as the forerunner of the modern choral movement in Catalonia, and his mission was to bring music closer to the people, while promoting solidarity and popular culture.

A Rich and Varied Repertoire

Pieces by artists such as Taltabull, Oltra and Saderra will also be performed, allowing attendees to discover the richness of the Catalan musical heritage, recognized as one of the most outstanding in Europe.

A Narrated Experience

The concert will be enriched with narrations by Xavier Chavarria, who will guide the audience through the stories and contexts surrounding the pieces performed, bringing an additional dimension to the musical experience.

The Granollers Chamber Choir: A Living Tradition

Founded in 1996 within the Amics de la Unió Choral Society, which dates back to 1877, the Granollers Chamber Choir, under the direction of Josep Vila Jover, has been growing and consolidating itself as a benchmark in the Catalan choral world. This wide repertoire has allowed it to perform in emblematic venues such as the Palau de la Música Catalana and L’Auditori de Barcelona.
