A musical journey through the stations and emotions

A singular concert to the Palau de la Música

On March 25, the Palau de la Música became a stage of various sounds with the violinist Leticia Moreno and a quartet of excellent musicians. Accompanied by the bandoneonist Claudio Constantini, the double bassist Edicson Ruiz and the pianist Matan, offered a repertoire that fused European classic with Latin American rhythms.

An unusual fusion of genres

The concert began with a version for violin and bandoneon of the sonata no. 4 BWV 1017 Bach, originally conceived for violin and keys. Although the proposal seemed promising, the similarity in the timbre of the instruments limited the sound contrast. However, the Adagio offered moments of magic, with the two instruments creating an intimate atmosphere that captivated the audience.

Emotions to flower flower

Then the famous Bachiana Brazileira no. 5 of Heitor Villa-Lobos made his appearance. The violin, assuming the role of soprano, merged harmoniously with the piano, bandoneon and double bass, creating a vibrant balance. The aria resonated with an emotional intensity that evoked nostalgia, transporting the attendees to a sound world full of nuances.

A Baroque musical treasure

The first part of the concert ended with the Chiquitana Sonata no. 4, an anonymous gem of the eighteenth century. This baroque piece, reminiscent of Vivaldi’s work, showed a perfect synergy between the instruments, highlighting the quartet’s skill.

Key moment: Bach’s chacon

The second half led to the audience at a deeper level with the chacon of the party for violin alone no. 2 of Bach. This work, known for its complexity, was performed by Moreno with an intensity that transcends the technique. His interpretation was a meditative experience, where his face reflected a deep connection with music, leaving the audience in a state of absence and fascination.

Passion closure: Piazzolla stations

To conclude the evening, Astor Piazzolla’s ‘Four Porteñas stations’ brought an explosion of rhythms and emotions. Moreno, with an admirable virtuosity, shared the stage with the bandoneon in a vibrant and dynamic interpretation. Each station came to life through an execution full of strength and vitality, leaving an indelible imprint on the attendees.

Final reflections on an unforgettable evening

The concert was a testament to the beauty that may arise from the union of different musical traditions. Moreno’s ability and his companions to weave a rich and varied sound narrative left a lasting impression, reminding us of the power of music to unite cultures and emotions.
